pKatA promoter for Bacillus subtilis
The katA promoter is the catalase promoter from B. subtilis and is regulated by the hydrogen peroxide concentration in the medium. At low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide, the PerR suppressor represses the production of catalase by binding the katA promoter. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide, the PerR suppressor unbinds the promoter and allows the transcription of the downstream gene.
