Design Considerations
Unmodified from C. perfringens genome sequence. This regulatory unit has been experimentally tested in terms of its application but not its function. The promoter prediction tool BPROM (Zuker, 2003) was used to identify putative -35 and -10 boxes from which the promoter regions and UTRs were predicted for the series of entries relating to the BgaRL system. Owing to the bidirectional nature of the bgaRL system, all bgaRL entries are listed 5'-3'-exactly as found on the chromosome of C. perfringens to allow the correct topology when assembled as a composite part.
