Initiation Factor 3 (IF3) in pSb1C3

Initiation Factor 3 (IF3) is a protein that aids the initiation of protein synthesis (peptide chain initiation). IF3 binds to the 30S subunit of the ribosome, causing ribosomal subunit interactions to change in favour for starting protein synthesis [1]. This part is codon optimized for Escherichia coli , has a N-terminal his tag for purification and has a T7promoter, Medium strength RBS and double terminator. These initial designs were by the 2017 Lethbridge iGEM team (http://2017.igem.org/Team:Lethbridge).

This part was improved by placing the part into the pSB1C3 plasmid.
