Phenylalanine tRNA Synthetase alpha subunit (PheRS alpha) in pSB1C3
Phenylalanine tRNA synthetase (PheRS) is responsible for attaching phenylalanine onto its tRNA to form an aminoacyl-tRNA. PheRS has both a alpha and beta subunit [1]. The part is codon optimized for use in Escherichia coli , contains a N-terminal hexahistidine tag with a serine glycine linker and is under the regulation of a T7 Promoter, medium strength RBS and double terminator. The part was originally designed by the Lethbridge iGEM team 2017 (http://2017.igem.org/Team:Lethbridge) and was initially characterized in the pUC57 plasmid (https://parts.igem.org/Part:BBa_K2443014).
The part was improved by placing it into the pSB1C3 plasmid.
