Murine JE/MCP-1

Member of CC chemokine family that uses the CCR2 receptor for chemo-attracting monocytes to the site of release (monocyte chemoattractant protein - 1). This coding sequence lacks the heavily glycosylated C-terminus present in the wild-type protein and has been shown to have a increased chemotactic potency[1][2]. The protein can be expressed recombinantly in a prokaryotic system because of its lack of glycosylation and post-translational modifications.
