Carbonic anhydrase 2 (L203K)

The protein encoded by this gene is one of several isozymes of carbonic anhydrase, which catalyzes reversible hydration of carbon dioxide.We carried out site mutation on its DNA molecule and found that the mutant carbonic anhydrase had higher activity when the amino acid codon 203 encoded changed from leucine to lysine.
