pKQ-upp

This vector is for constitutive expression of the E. coli upp gene conferring 5-fluorouracil sensitivity under a Pgln promoter. It is not Biobricks!

Upp mutant strains like GHFu10E05 are resistant to around 10ug/mL 5-Fu on casamino acid agar plates or minimal media. All bacteria are resistant to 5-Fu on LB plates. pKQ-upp restores the sensitivity phenotype to mutant strains and is useful as a positive control during the development of negative selections based on upp.
