ahpC

Alkyl hydroperoxide reductase subunit C (ahpC) detoxifies peroxides. It plays an additional role in aiding enterobactin synthesis. Enterobactin is a siderophore found in E. coli, among other bacteria, and it assists the bacteria in taking up iron for metabolic use. This sequence also contains a FLAG tag for easy antibody visualization through a Western Blot.
