Pex34 with galactose inducible promoter

This part contains the coding sequence for the peroxin Pex34 with the galactose inducible promoter GAL1 and the terminator ScADH1. The sequence is codon-optimized for S. cerevisiae.

Usage and Biology

Pex34p is a peroxisomal integral membrane protein. It can act independently as well as in combination with Pex11p, Pex25p, and Pex27p to control the peroxisome morphology and population. Pex34p is suggested to directly influence peroxisome proliferation as well as constitutive peroxisome division. Overexpression of Pex34 leeds to a high number of large peroxisomes.
