Pex34p with copper inducible promotor
This part contains the coding sequence for the peroxin Pex34p with a copper inducible promoter ScGAL1 and the terminator ScADH1. The sequence is codon-optimized for S. cerevisiae.
Usage and Biology
Pex34p is a peroxisomal integral membrane protein that can act both, independently and in combination with Pex11p, Pex25p, and Pex27p to control the peroxisome morphology and population. Pex34p is suggested to directly influence peroxisome proliferation as well as constitutive peroxisome division.

Results
Pex34 is assembled with a copper inducible promotor. Cultivating the cells in a medium with 0,5 uM copper conzentration leads to a medium strong induction of the promoter. Visible are more slightly enhanced peroxisomes than in the WT strain.
