Cyt(Cytochrome)
This sequence codes for cytochrome found in Nitrosomonas europaea that catalyze the conversion of hydroxylamine (NH2OH) quantitatively to N2O under anaerobic conditions by transporting electrons from HAO to AMO, the other two main enzymes involved in the nitrification circuit. By incorporating P. denitrificans TAT sequence within this coding sequence, we expect that the cytochrome protein will be directed to the periplasm of the cell.
