miR1441 target sequence

It is the target sequence of miR1441, a modularized DNA part from a set of chemically synthetic oligo DNA library.

Usage and Biology

MiRNA locker assembled by using this modularized DNA part was able to bind miR1441 in an Ago2 dependent manner, that is, knockdown of miR1441 was achieved by transfecting cells with miRNA locker.

Osa-miR1441 was firstly identified in rice by high throughput sequencing. And it has 3 loci in the rice genome. In the experiment which identified it, researchers constructed two libraries from control rice seedlings and seedlings exposed to drought or salt stress. Osa-miR1441 was represented by 24 reads in the drought stress library and 0 reads in the control library suggesting that this miRNA might be slightly induced under drought stress. However, Northern analysis showed that its expression levels did not differ between the control and stress conditions.¹
