Design Notes

Formaldehyde sensor sequence

We changed the downstream gene frmAB to RFP and designed the restriction enzyme cutting site to the both ends of this part. Ahead of protein FrmR, we added a flag tag in conveninence of the protein purification and identification.

Source

The origin of the gene sequence is from E.coli K-12. This protein FrmR acts as natural regulator of protein FrmAB. FrmA and FrmB are two proteins that are participating in the detoxication of formaldehyde in E.coli.
