Silicatein gene with strong RBS
Usage and Biology
Silicatein is an enzyme natively found in demosponges and diatoms, where it catalyzes the condensation of silica to form the typical skeletal elements. This biobrick contains the short version of the silicatein gene from Suberites domuncula, according to Müller. et al. [1][2]. This biobrick is a subpart of BBa_K1890000 and BBa_K1890001. It does not exist individually.
