Applications of BBa_K1783002

This composite BioBrick was used as a visual reporter gene. The brief half life enables this part to be used as a method to quantify protein production in a much more precise manner than a regular RFP that aggregates in the cell. A microplate reader was used to report objective data about the production of this protein. As a result of the constitutive promoter and short temporal lifespan, this part was used as an effective assay of plasmid maintenance where the transcription and translation of this RFP reflected the maintenance of a plasmid that contained this part.
