3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA dehydratase

Coding region for the 3-hydroxybutyryl-CoA dehydratase (Crt), an enzyme involved in the butyrate biosynthesis pathway of Clostridium acetobutylicum. This substrate of this enzyme is 3-hydroxybutyryl-coA and the product is Crotonyl-CoA (Figure 1).

We used BBa_K1587003 with other genes to produce butyrate in Escherichia coli (Figure 2).
