tetracycline resistance protein TetA(C) (forward), [cf. BBa_J31006]

BBa_J31007 is the coding region for tetracyline resistance [TetA(C) inner membrane associated protein] in the forward orientation. This does not code for the repressor of the tetracycline promoter. This part requires a promoter and RBS for proper expression.

Usage and Biology

Cells expressing BBa_J31007 are able to grow on media containing tetracycline, however overexpression is detrimental to cell growth.
