pcyA with RBS

Strong RBS (BBa_B0030). Ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PcyA) from synechocystis (BBa_I15009). Converts biliverdin IXalpha (BV) to phycocyanobilin (PCB), the immediate precursor of cyanobacterial phytochromes (Figure 1).

pcyA is used to catalyse the formation of phycocyanobilin (PCB), a chromophore of the phytochrome family of photoreceptors, photosynthetic light-harvesting complexes required for circadian clock. It is usually used in association with ho1 that catalyses the formation of biliverdin (BV) IXα via heme.
