MicF Target

The micF target stems from the 5’ untranslated region of the ompF (outer membrane porin F) gene in E. coli. It is the bind site for micF, a non-coding regulatory RNA. MicF prevents translation of ompF when it binds to the micF target [1].

The micF target is intended to be fused to a protein of interest. It should then be possible to down-regulate protein expression using micF (BBa_K176600).

BBa_K1766001 consists of the micF target and Anderson promoter BBa_J23101. The BioBrick has been sequenced and confirmed as the correct construct. Due to time constraints iGEM Stockholm 2015 were unable to caracterize this part.
