MicF Target
The micF target stems from the 5’ untranslated region of the ompF (outer membrane porin F) gene in E. coli. It is the bind site for micF, a non-coding regulatory RNA. MicF prevents translation of ompF when it binds to the micF target [1].
BBa_K1766001 consists of the micF target under the control of Anderson promoter BBa_J23101.
The micF target can be fused to a protein of interest. It is then possible to down-regulate protein expression using MicF (BBa_K176600).
