AtFatA-CDS

Acyl-acyl carrier protein (ACP) thioesterase catalyzes the hydrolysis of acyl-ACP to fatty acids and ACP this reaction removes the coupling between fatty acid biosynthesis and phospholipid biosyntheis, which is a key to obtain free fatty acids. This thioesterase AtFatA can produce fatty acids with 16~18 carbon chain length. In previous researches, thioesterase gene AtFatA can be expressed in E.coli BL21(DE3) and enhance the synthesis of free fatty acids. This part can increase the productivity of free fatty acids. However, this part can not express itself. You should add promoter, RBS and terminator to it or use other parts we offer.
After the overexpression of AtFatA gene, we examined the species of fatty acid in the compound we got. There turned out to be 6 kinds of fatty acid. Among them, fatty acid of 16C chain length takes the greatest proportion which is 38.1%. Secondly, the fatty acid of 16C chain length with a double bond in it amounts for 24.7%. The fatty acid of 18C chain length with a double bond in it consists about a quarter of the whole compounds. The rest part of the mixture is composed of fatty acid of 14C chain length, fatty acid of 17C chain length, fatty acid of 19C chain length which is 2.6% , 12.4% and 4.7%, respectively.
