This part is made up of the coding sequence of the A and B elements of the acs, cellulose-producing operon. AcsA and acsB are transcribed and translated in the form of a single polypeptide, and form the main two domains (regulatory and catalytic) of the Cellulose Synthase enzyme in Gluconacetobacter Xylinus.
