Part:BBa_K1202101
Nanofactory Enzyme Zone (LuxS-Pfs)
Second section of NanoFactory consists of an enzyme complex which is responsible for the transformation reaction of S-adenosyl homocysteine (SAH) into autoinducer-2 (AI-2) quorum sensing unit. We planned to use this part as an attractor for bacteria after cancer cells are detected and stabilized by NanoFactory Binding Zone (BBa_K1202100).
LuxS and Pfs enzymes are two main components of the transformation reaction from SAH to AI-2. In the literature, this chemical reaction can be conducted in vitro conditions and extracellularly. This allows us tracking specific targets in nanoscale via attaching this enzyme complex to another protein, like an antibody. NanoFactory is a protein complex, which consists of three main sections: Binding Zone, Connecting Zone and Enzyme Zone. Binding Zone will provide the accumulation of enzyme products in a specific location. (in our case, nearby the cancer cells.)
