Bicistronic RBS - BIOFAB ID: apFAB681 (BCD1)

Ribosome Binding Site with high strength based on bicistronic junction architecture. Facilitates translation of genes at reliably high rates. Information from BIOFAB: Strain performance: 435.43 Strain performance SD: 53.55.

Usage and Biology

Bicistronic Ribosome Binding Sites have shown to provide ~93% chance to obtain expected gene expression within a two-fold target level. This provides improved control over reliable expression by decreasing engineering error by ~750%(Mutalik et al.).
