DBT-sulfone monooxygenase (DszA) from R. erythropolis

A monooxygenase enzyme involved in the 4S desulfurization pathway. The functional DszA protein encoded by this sequence is dimeric, and is involved in the third step of the 4S biodesulfurization pathway. In this pathway, DszA carries out the conversion of DBT-sulfone to 2-hydroxybiphenyl-2-sulfinic acid through addition of an oxygen to the sulfur heteroatom.
