Applications of BBa_K622006

The function check of chitinase activity was performed by using DNS assay.

Since DNS assay is known as a method to detect the amount of reducing sugar, this assay was used to measure the quantity of N-acetylglucosamine, the main product of decomposition of chitin.

The chitinase activity was measured in the supernatant of culture. Figure 1 shows the amount of reducing sugar. From this result, no reducing sugar was observed and the chitinase activity couldn't observed.
