kivd (alpha-ketoisovalerate decarboxylase)

This is the coding sequence of kivd from Lactococcus lactis subsp. It encodes alpha-ketoisovalerate decarboxylase which is responsible for the decarboxylation into aldehydes of α-keto acids derived from amino acid transamination. This gene plays the vital part of the isobutanol biosynthesis pathway. Following is the isobutanol biosythesis pathway.
