cI

cI without degradation tag The cI gene codes for the bacteriophage λ repressor(1). This bacteriophage λ-repressor from phage lambda does not contain a ssrA tag. The ssrA tag is a target for proteolytic enzymes and causes degradation of the protein(2). When this gene is transcribed, it will not be degraded that fast by proteolytic enzymes ( because it lacks the ssrA tag) and so the protein half-life will be longer compared to cI with a degradation tag.
