RBS - IntI1

IntI1 is an integron integrase of the class 1 multiresistant integron (MRI). The integron platform consists of an integrase gene (intI) belonging to the tyrosine recombinase family and a primary recombination site, attI. The integrase mediates recombination between the attI site and a target recombination sequence called an attC site (or 59-base element). The attC site is usually found associated with a single open reading frame in a circularized structure termed a gene cassette. Insertion of the gene cassette at the attI site, which is located downstream of a resident promoter, Pc, internal to the intI gene, drives expression of the encoded proteins.
