spp - Sucrose-Phosphate Phosphatase gene from Synechocystis PCC 6803

Usage and Biology

spp codes for Sucrose-phosphate phosphatase (SPP), an enzyme involved in the sucrose biosynthesis pathway in cyanobacterial species Synechocystis PCC 6803, Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942, and Synechococcus elongatus UTEX 2973, among others.

Sucrose-phosphate phosphatase catalyses the conversion of fructose-6-phosphate into sucrose.
