Theophylline actif aptazyme

an aptazyme is an aptamer-ribozyme combinations with intrinsic RNA cleavage activity. this aptazyme is specific for the theophylline (liguant). Theophylline (1,3-dimethylxanthine) is a drug used in therapy for respiratory diseases and is structurally similar to theobromine and caffeine He is composed in 3 differents part, a twister ribozyme module, a communication module and an aptamer module This aptazyme is a OFF-switches aptazyme, this mean that in the presence of liguant the RNA does not self-cleave and in the absence of liguant the RNA self-cleaves. This mean that you can sense the theophylline in a medium with this aptazyme.
