firefly luciferase
Firefly luciferase is luciferase from Photinus pyralis. By oxidation of substrate luciferin light is produced. Luciferase thus acts as a reporter protein when connected to other proteins or promoters.

Surprisingly, the luciferase in group without SNP was also be activated with undetermined mechanisms. We speculated that it may be caused by leakage expression of promoter PyeaR . Due to this reason, we also constructed an improvement of PyeaR based NO sensor which inserted an extra NOBS downstream of PyeaR to create a ‘roadblocking’ effect. The leakage is reduced by nineteen percent. Please click to “improvement biobricks” for more details. Sequence and Features
