RBS-lldP
transport lactate
Usage and biology
lldP refers to L-lactate permease, helping transport lactate out of the cell. With this gene, Rhodopseudomonas palustris could transport lactate out of the cell more efficiently, which brings Shewanella more carbon source.
Characterization
This is one section for lactate transportion part.
DNA Gel Electrophoretic
To make sure that we get the target gene, we did the DNA gel electrophoretic for verification. And here is the result.
Our target gene is 1674bp, and as the marker is DS5000, we could be sure that the bright bands in this picture are our target genes.
Electrogenesis
By detecting the production of lactate after expressing, we might find out whether lldP could effectively help Rhodopseudomonas palustris transport lactate out of cell.
It could be demonstrated that the target gene could be expressed in the engineered cells. More lactate has been transported out of the cell by engineered bacteria, which helps to provide more carbon source for Shewanella.
