pAlkA

AlkA, a gene under regulation of the adaptive response, is involved in the DNA damage response of Escherichia coli and can be upregulated upon exposure to DNA alkylating agents. AlkA encodes 3-methyladenine glycosylase II, a repair glycosylase. Previous research has shown a specific response of this gene to alkylating agents when coupled to luxCDABE.
