GF-17--The major antimicrobial region of LL-37 for Lactococcus lactis NZ9000

Human cathelicidin LL-37, which contains amphipathic molecules for bacterial killing, is an essential component of the innate immune system. By appending a glycine at the N-terminus of FK-16, the linear cationic amphipathic peptide, GF-17, are more important in bacterial membrane permeation, but less toxic to human cells sheds new light on controlling invading pathogens.
