Physiological effect
daf-12 in Caenorhabditis elegans plays a key role in the regulation of development and determination of adult longevity. It has effects also on resistance to oxidative and thermal stress which makes daf-12 the first gene with alleles that can extend or shorten lifespan.
Applications of BBa_K364303
DAF-12 LBD can be fused with various DBDs to activate the expression of chosen genes by addition of dafachronic acids (ligand).
