RFC12 7x His Tag Tail Domain

This is a RFC12 compatible version of BBa_T2000. It is a 7x his tag tail domain meant for C-terminal fusions. .

Usage and Biology

Polyhistidine tags are a very common purification tag used to separate or identify a target protein.

Common tag information:

  • Matrix: Divalent Metal (Ni2+ is most common)
  • Yield/Purity: 20%-80% pure, but depending on the methodology can be higher
  • # Steps: One step
  • Fusion Location: C-terminus (N-terminus is BBa_J70609)
  • Affects Function?: Possible, but rare
