-- No description --

This is the DNA enconding a sythetic construct of the Clostridium botulinum neurotoxin type A. (typically used in Botox injections)

WARNING: Botulinum toxin type A is an extremely potent neurotoxin and can lead to widespread muscle paralysis and neuron damage. 200-300 pg/kg is a lethal dose for a human being. When using this part, gain permissin from the federal patent office and practice great caution with promoters and RBS sequences that may be put in a device with it (they should be chosen to limit expression of the protein to safe amounts with respect to the system the part is being inserted into). Further information can be found on PubMed via the reference: Shone, C.C., Quinn, C.P., Foster, K.A. (1997) Recombinant toxin fragments. Patent, PCT (W0/98/07864)-A 22-AUG-1997.
