ShMT3
This is an improved part based on BBa_k4463001.
The ability of Metallothioneins to bind metal ions depends on the amount of cysteine (Cys). Therefore, in order to improve the metal ion binding capacity of ShMT, we performed a three-point mutation of the original sequence by targeted mutagenesis to increase the Cys content[1].
IGEM_XJTLU 2022 tested the function of ShMT3 by adding it with CsgA, which realized the surface display of ShMT3 on E.coli.
We used ICP-MS to measure the concentration of binding Cu(II) and Cd(II) on the surface of E.coli. For detailed information about our measurement method and result analysis, please visit our Experimentsand Resultson wiki.
