MazE gene

Function of MazE MazE is an antitoxin, which binds to MazF and stops MazF from killing the cell.

Usage and Biology We use this part to apply in our kill switch system and stop MazF from cleaving the mRNA ACA site.

Experience and Result We use modeling to analyze the interaction between MazE and MazF. The result shows that the mRNA of MazF is less vulnerable to MazF. That is to say MazF is not good at recognizing the mRNA MazE. Hence, MazE can be expressed fluently under the pressure of MazF. We suggest that’s why MazE can serve as the antitoxin gene toward the MazF toxin gene.

Pre A1 is an intermediate construct for kill switch system.
