Yarrowia lipolytica XRP2 signal peptide (secretion tag)
Signal peptide sequence from the Yarrowia lipolytica alkaline extracellular protease XRP2 gene.
Usage and Biology
XPR2 signal peptide is a signal peptide derived from the XPR2 extracellular protease in Yarrowia lipolytica. The signal peptide is located at the N-terminus of the protein and directs the section of the protein to the extracellular space. High levels of XPR2 secretion has made this signal peptide an excellent model to study protein secretion in Yarrowia lipolytica. XPR2 signal peptide is one of the most commonly used signal peptides for secretion of heterologous proteins in Yarrowia lipolytica. (1)
