Lead Sequestration Protein with RBS
pbrD is a protein that sequesters lead. It is present downstream of a strong RBS (BBa_B0034) and binds to lead ions in the cytoplasm and decrease its concentration.
Usage and Biology
This is an intermediate part which can be incorporated under a promoter. The pbrD protein is known to sequester lead ions in the cytoplasm of the bacterial cell.
When put under a lead responsive promoter, the part is expected to show dosage dependent sequestration properties.

The part was artificially synthesised with corresponding primers that have overlap with GFP sequence. This allows it to be put downstream of the lead dependent biosensor (BBa_K1758333). This part has been synthesised with a strong Ribosome Binding Site (BBa_B00340) upstream of the coding sequence.
