Promoter for the Prm1 transcription factor in the P. pastoris GS115 strain
The promoter of the PRM1 gene in wildtype P. pastoris. Upregulated by Prm1 and downregulated by Mit1.
Usage and Biology
The PRM1 promoter is homogenous to the P. pastoris GS115 strain and is critical in the regulatory pathway of the expression of alcohol oxidase 1 (AOX1). Prm1 is one of the three critical transcription factors that upregulate the activity of the AOX1 promoter. When methanol is present, the activity of the PRM1 promoter is upregulated, and further amplified by the self-upregulation of Prm1 (Prm1 upregulates PRM1 promoter).
Functional Parameters
Published literature has characterized the regulatory profiles of PRM1 under different carbon sources.
