Trp Leader Peptide and anti-terminator/terminator

The E. coli trp operon is responsible for synthesis of tryptophan when its cellular concentration is low. This part was amplified using PCR from the chromosome. It contains a predicted RBS, the leader peptide, and the regulatory sequence with the anti-terminator and terminator.

Usage and Biology

In the presence of tryptophan, any sequences downstream will not be transcribed. In the absence of tryptophan they will be transcribed. This part can therefore serve as an "off" switch for turning off the expression of any downstream genes.
