Codon Optimized Supernova

Supernova is the monomeric version of KillerRed (BBa_K1184000). It has been codon optimized for E. coli.

Of the three superoxide generators, Supernova had the biggest decrease in viability following photobleaching when compared to its control. It also had the largest decrease in fluorescence following photobleaching. Fluorescence was measured at (ex/em = 585nm/610nm).

Improvement

2017 SSTi-SZGD Team has improved the this part. The improvement was made by inserting supernova gene into a light-regulated expression system, lightoff BBa_K2244009. we gave it a new name supernova-lev1(BBa_K2244010)

2017 NU_Kazakhstan Team has improved the function of SuperNova protein for killing the cell by making its membrane-bound version in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Link: https://parts.igem.org/wiki/index.php?title=Part:BBa_K2516003.
