Applications of BBa_K1830002

BBa K1830002 is stated as the signal peptide of Usp45, however,after thorough literature search we found that SPusp45 is only 27 amino acids long, but not the current version of BBa_K1830002. We confirmed that the 27 amino acids long SPusp45 signal peptide can be used for secreting proteins out of the L.lactis cell. It should be fused to the N-terminal of the protein of interest.

iGEMers who want to use the SPusp45, they should chose the BBa K1654007 part, we have verified that BBa K1654007 is functional in protein secretion.

We characterized that the 27 amino acids long SPusp45 signal peptide part BBa K1654007, but not the BBa_K1830002 part is the right choice that can be used to secret proteins out of L. lactis.
