Single-chain variable fragment (Anti-EGFR)

Introduction: Single Chain Variable Fragment of Cetuximab

scFv (Single Chain Variable Fragment)

scFv is a fusion protein of the variable regions of heavy(VH) and light chain(VL) of immunoglobulins, and the heavy chain and light chain are connected with a short linker peptide of about 15 to 20 amino acids.

Features of scFv:
1.specificity:the property of specificity of antibody to antigen has being maintained
2.can be simply produced or displayed by bacteria such as E. coli
3.

Cetuximab

We selected the single chain variable fragments (scFv) of monoclonal antibodies Cetuximab
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor that regulate the cell division and cell apoptosis.
EGFR is characterized by an extracellular ligand-binding domain, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic domain containing the tyrosine kinase region followed by a carboxyl-terminal tail with tyrosine autophosphorylation sites. Mutations in the gene encoding EGFR that lead to overexpression of this protein will lead to cells proliferate uncontrollably.
