Banana odor generator

Protein generator producing the protein ATF1 under control of the LacI repressor. Thus, in a LacI- E. coli strain, ATF1 is continually produced. ATFI encodes the enzyme alcohol acetyltransferase I (AATase I), which produces acetate esters from acetyl CoA and alcohols (including isoamyl acetate from isoamyl alcohol). This part is almost identical to BBa_J45220 except that it uses the B0030 RBS (instead of B0032 as is in BBa_J45220). The Banana Generating Device (BGD) function thus far has been to convert isoamyl alcohol into isoamyl acetate (a banana-scented compound).
