Repeat/Spacer Region
Confers resistance to T4 page upon those strains containing Cas9 and TracrRNA.
Short segments of foreign DNA, called spacers, are incorporated into the genome between CRISPR repeats, and serve as a 'memory' of past exposures.[6] CRISPR spacers are then used to recognize and silence exogenous genetic elements in a manner analogous to RNAi in eukaryotic organisms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CRISPR Sequence and Features
