GFP is a reportor of H2 production (strictly speaking,reporter of hycAp activation Part:BBa K778000 (hycAp is the promotor of formate hydrogen lyase of genome)).

FhlA is the trnascriptional activator of hycAp Part:BBa K778000 . E.coli overexpressing FhlA produce H2 (since hycAp is the promoter of FHL(formate hydrogen lyase)). fhlA-E363G has one point mutation (A to G, glutamic acid to glycine).
